Central Hudson Debuts E-Newsletter for Customers

Power Talk expands utility's electronic communications offerings

Participating customers of Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation are now receiving PowerTalk, a quarterly e-newsletter reporting helpful information on energy efficiency, energy news, safety tips and community involvement.

“PowerTalk is another way we’re reaching out to our customers to provide them with timely energy-related information that they can use,” said James P. Laurito, President of Central Hudson. “Our first issue features many of the energy efficiency programs and incentives we offer for homes and businesses, and reports on some of the initiatives Central Hudson is taking to help our communities,” he said.

Customers may receive PowerTalk when they enroll in My Account, Central Hudson’s free self-service Web portal, at www.CentralHudson.com. Laurito explained there are many benefits to customers who enroll. “Doing so enables them to view and update their account information, see their billing and payment histories, track energy usage, pay bills, and even enter a meter reading or report a power outage, all online and at any time,” Laurito said.
The newsletter can also be viewed by clicking on the PowerTalk link on the home page of the utility’s Web site, www.CentralHudson.com. “We hope PowerTalk will become a helpful resource for our customers,” said Laurito.
Customers can also stay informed on energy topics, storm updates and more by becoming a “fan” and “follower” of the utility’s Facebook and Twitter pages at www.Facebook.com/CentralHudson and www.Twitter.com/CentralHudson.

“Our customers are increasingly turning to the Internet and mobile devices to communicate, conduct business, receive news and perform everyday tasks,” said Laurito. “PowerTalk, Facebook, Twitter, and My Account at www.CentralHudson.com are examples of ways in which we are growing our use of Internet-based methods to connect with customers who favor and rely on electronic communications.”
